The Schooner Larinda, produced by Trudeau Classic Sailing Yachts, represents a classic design remidiscent of 19th century New England fishing schooners. Influenced by famed naval architect John Alden, she was built using Real Life boat plans.

Features

  • Can be sailed solo, or with crew up to 3 additional mates. HUDs can be provided to crew members allowing them to assist in piloting the craft.
  • Designed to "really sail" using Second Life's built in wind system. Voice or HUD commands tril each sail for optimal performance under sail. Depending on wind conditions and seamanship, the Larinda is apt to heel, drift, or stall.
  • 6 opening hatches provide access to the fully outfitted cabin. Two double berths, a forward vee-berth and an aft double quarterberth, are found below and fitted with couples cuddle poses.
  • Moving wheel, helmsperson animations, lit running lights, and mast hoop positioning animations are included.
  • Highly detailed, including well textured white oak framing, cedar hull planking, teak decks, sitka spruce masts and spars, varnished mahogany brightwork and bronze fittings.
  • A selection of hull and sail textures can be chosen with voice commands allowing a more personalized appearance, and templates can be obtained to emblazon the craft's name and port of call on the transom.
  • The script controlling the default camera location and angle is provided as modifiable to allow for customized points of view.
  • Artificial wind commands are provided to overcome the often fickle Second Life Wind. SLSF racewind compatibility.
  • Auxiliary motor is included for poor wind conditions and marina friendly precision maneuvers.
  • Rezzing the Larinda "wearable" attachment will also rez a mooring line piling or drydock cradle depending on whether the attachment was rezzed over land or water.
