Second Life Groups
There are many groups that are related to sailing in Second Life. Many are related to a sailing club or a region in SL. Others are related to the use of a special boat.
These groups are (or aren't) mentioned with the regarding description here.
Some groups of general use:
Second Life Sailing Federation
This group is something like the "roof" group for sailing in Second Life. The SL description of the group is here:
Second Life Sailing Federation
Please avoid posting special questions about sailing to this group. Many people are there that don't want to be bothered with it.
there is another group that's better suited for it:
SL sailing coach network
The sailing coaches network has specially been founded to allow people ask in-world questions. All members there have either opted for the role as a coach or are willing to get advise.
The SL description is here:
Open Seas Project
Nautical activities in Second Life are getting increasingly difficult due to the many residents who use ban lines over waterways. The purpose of the Open Seas Project is to inform and educate these residents on how to minimize the effect ban lines have on nautical activities and to encourage them about keeping waterways navigable.
We provide an infokit for residents with information and tips on how to remove or minimize problems caused by ban lines and other obstacles. The group is seeking volunteers willing to help with the task of informing residents of the problems caused by ban lines. To join please search for the Open Seas Project group. For further information please contact one of the following group founders: Indigo Mertel, Elisha Paklena, Espresso Saarinen.
